Today is a busy day for our family. It all started this morning with Jordan's Model Student Breakfast. Our family got to attend the breakfast with him and enjoy doughnuts. We are very proud of him. The kids have special events planned at school today. They each packed goody bags to share with their classmates (Thanks Mimi!). There will be no trick-or-treating tonight; we're off to ballgames instead. The Trojans play their last game tonight- Go Trojans! Hope you have a great sugar-loaded day!

Fall Festival
Last night, our church held its annual Fall Festival. It is always a lot of fun. Last night was especailly fun because I didn't have to work at the event as in year's past, but could actually enjoy the night with my children. My mom was here for my dad's birthday, so all the family was at the fall festival, including Mimi and Papa. The kids had a large time. The games were all biblicallay based and most things were inside, which was nice since the weather is cool now. All in all, it was a great night spent with family and friends fellowshipping.

Jordan, the Soccer Star
Tonight was Jordan's last soccer game. He is doing better as a player and has learned a good bit this season. Now he at least knows he is to chase the ball and try to get a kick. He turned out to be a pretty good goalie. He waited all night in the (50 degree weather might I add)to be awarded his medal. He was very proud of himself. Way to go soccer star!!

Anna's Birthday Party
Anna celebrated her 9th birthday with a fall carnival at Mimi and Papa's home. It was a cool fall day and the perfect weather for the party. We bobbed for apples, played fun games and even had a hay ride. The children really enjoyed the huge, inflatable slide, but I most enjoyed the time spent with family. What a great day and certainly one Anna won't ever forget!

Guess Who's the Model Student?
Yep, you guessed it. Jordan is the Model Student for his classroom for October. We are so proud of him. The adjustment to kindergarten hasn't been exactly easy, so this makes us even more proud of his accomplishments. We are invited to his school for a breakfast in his honor on the 31st to celebrate. Way to Go, Jordan!!

Happy Anniversary!
Today is my sister and her husband's anniversary. They were married on this date 14 years ago if my math is correct. Jen and Travis, you are an inspiration to me. You've not always had an easy road to travel, but your marriage has thrived through all the many moves and job changes. Thanks for setting a good example of a godly marriage to me!! I love you and wish you many more anniversaries to come!

Cowpoke Carnival 2008
The service league that I am a part of hosts a Cowpoke Carnival on the second Saturday of October each year. It is a huge event and lots of planning and preparation go into making it a success. The money raised each year (to the tune of about $20,000) is put back into many service agencies and activities for our community. Anna and Jordan look forward to it each year. This year, my niece and nephews were able to join us for the fun. I was not able to really enjoy the carnival with them, because I have to work the event, however I understand they all had a great time. The weather was overcast, but at least not hot. The girls enjoyed riding the horses, and the boys most enjoyed the snacks (no surprises there, huh?).

Happy Birthday Anna!
Today is Anna's 9th birthday. It hardly seems possible that nine years have past so quickly. Our day started with a parent conference with Anna's teachers. They had glowing reports to give about her (I always knew she took after her mother!). She took cupcakes to school to share with her classmates. She and Jordan had to have their soccer pictures made, and then she had a birthday supper at the pizza place. She came home to open presents. It was a good but busy day. Her party, carnival style, will not take place until next weekend, due to the Cowpoke Carnival to be held this weekend. I am thankful for the extra week to get things planned and completed.
