Go Mighty Trojans!

Anna and Jordan get excited about Fridays. They love going to the football games. I think Anna likes socializing and Jordan enjoys the nachos more than watching the game, but hey, we're there to show our support for Brian either way. Go Trojans!

Soccer Season Opening Night

Tonight was our first official soccer matches. Both Anna and Jordan played in a jamboree type set-up where they played two different teams but they only played one half. Anna's matches were very fast paced and exciting. Anna's agressive nature is alive and well on the soccer field, and this is to her advantage. Jordan's passive and easy going nature is also evident during his matches. He is more concerned with talking to other players and coaches than actually getting a foot on the ball. Anna's team tied both of their matches, while Jordan's team won both (at least according to him). After three hours at the soccer fields, we went home exhausted but excited and ready to try it again next week.

Hilarious Hat Day

The Lighthouse

Jordan had his first school project due today. He was to create a lighthouse. It somehow related to a "shining" student as related to their character lessons, I think. This was to be a family project. We were given no guidelines or other information except to "create a lighthouse". We did the best we could, and Jordan was very proud of his lighthouse. He wanted to show off his lighthouse so we took his picture this morning before he left for school. I know this is only the first of many projects to come. We have to design and make a hilarious hat by Friday. Any suggestions?

Our Soccer Stars

Anna & Jordan are both in full swing with soccer right now. They have not officially begun their season, but have practiced several times. It hasn't yet worked out where they practice at the same time; usually they practice back to back which means we are there several hours. The two main benefits I see are that they are both getting to know some new kids and getting some great exercise. Stay tuned for more exciting play-by-play as the season gets under way.

Happy Grandparents Day!!

Our children are so fortunate to have the grandparents that they have. We could not have prayed for a better set of grandparents. We are very thankful that both sets are so active in our children's lives. We have many memories to look back on and cherish. May you have an extra special day! You deserve it! We love our Mimi, Papa, Nana and Papaw!! We are so excited we will have them all living in our town before to long. How do you spell SPOILED? That would be J-o-r-d-a-n and A-n-n-a!!

Happy Labor Day

Today was a fun day. Let me rephrase that: Any day off of school is a fun day. The day wasn't exactly like the family had planned, but it was still fun. Brian's aunt lives in New Orleans and was headed to Americus for the evacuation. After spending the entire day Sunday in the car (traveling 14 hours of a trip for a distance that usually takes 2 hours), they made the decision to head north to a cousin's house in Mississippi. Jordan and Anna were very disappointed to not be able to spend the day with Gavin, their cousin who is Jordan's age. We tried to make them
understand the situation, and explain that this was actually better for Gavin's family, but Jordan was not to be swayed. However, the day was saved when they came across a turtle in the yard at Mimi and Papa's. They "rescued" the turtle and put her into the sandbox. They fed her lots of lettuce (like the equivalent of a 1/2 bag of salad mixings) and made sure she had some water. She has since been named Spot and has been given a new home in a crate. Overall the day was a great day with wonderful food and family. Brian's aunt Gloria from Albany came over, as well as Brian's brother and sister in law. Too bad Mr. Dale threw his back out while grilling this morning, and had to miss out on the great ribs he prepared. They were delicious!! Knowing Mr. Dale, he'll be back on his feet in no time.

Uncle Jeremy ROCKS!!

Uncle Jeremy came to visit with our family back in the middle of August, when he returned from his summer in New Mexico. The kids had an awesome time with him and were so glad to see him. I am just now posting pictures because I had misplace my camera. Come to find out, the camera was in the swim bag from the day we went swimming with Uncle Jeremy. So without further ado, here is uncle Jeremy with Anna and Jordan. We love you Uncle Jeremy! Come back and see us soon!
