Light Saber to the Rescue
For those of you who have been praying for Jordan's uneasiness with school, thanks! He has done much better this week. His Papa Dale promised him a light saber if he went to school each day without crying. I am not sure if this is what helped or having Anna ride with him, but whatever it was, he is better. He has gotten on the bus each morning without crying or seeming nervous. Praise the Lord. He went to school this morning talking about the shopping trip he has planned for this weekend to pick out his light saber. Thanks Papa!!
One Busy Week
This week has been exhausting. I keep thinking we are just not yet used to the school year routine, but i believe our weeks are getting busier. This is all we have accomplished this week
We are ever so thankful for the holiday Monday. We don't plan to Labor at all. We will relax and rest and prepare for the next weeks hectic schedule. We are trying as a family to cut back on our activities. Pray that God will give wisdom as to what's best for us!
- Monday: School, Soccer practice, A spelling bee at Perfect Care, the Ugandan children's choir and an ice cream social at church
- Tuesday: School, a visit to the public library, & PTO/Open house/Book Fair at Anna's school
- Wednesday: School, 2 HOUR leadership meeting, & AWANA
- Thursday: School & Soccer Practice
- Today we will be going after school to eat with some friends and then on to the stadium to cheer on the Trojans.

Tears on the Schoolbus
Jordan has decided he doesn’t like school anymore. Each morning this week he has been plagued with a terrible stomache and tears. Is his teacher the problem? No. Is it the big, scary bus ride between schools he doesn’t like? No. It’s PE. Yes, you heard me right. PE is a stupid time, when all the students do is stand around. Standing around is hard work, according to Jordan. And would you believe on top of all the standing around, sometimes they are made to squat. “Squats are killer on your legs”, he says. Nevermind the fact that his father is very athletic, has a PE degree, and makes his money taking care of athletes all day. The boy hates PE! Who would have thought! Say a prayer for Jordan that he will begin to enjoy PE and want to go to school. Tomorrow, there is no PE, so we’ll see if that changes his outlook in the morning.

Fishing for Fun
Today, as a fun way to pass time on a Saturday, our family ventured out into the country to the fishing hole. The temperature seemed to be down a bit today, and it was an excellent today to enjoy nature. It is so quiet and peaceful at the little pond where we went fishing. Well, it's quiet until Jordan arrives. When we first arrived, the fish were really biting, but they seemed to become still after about an hour and a half. We kept about 25 fish and what we didn't share with our neighbor, was fried up for supper for Mimi and Papa. All in all, it was a fun day spent with our Mimi and Papa (who, by the way, are excellent baiters and fish "getter off"ers).

My baby is growing up!
Today was the first day of school for us. Anna and Jordan both started at a new school. Anna has moved up to the elementary school, while Jordan started Kindergarten at the primary school. It hardly seems possible that my baby is starting kindergarten. I don't know where all the time has gone. Both Anna and Jordan had a great first day. Jordan got to be the line leader and earned "smarties" candies, so he was happy. Anna had music class, and reported that she liked all four of her new teachers. Our family is ready to get back into the school routine. We seem to do better with a schedule. Anna & Jordan are both excited school is beginning, and we are looking forward to a great year. Before I blink my eyes, they will be leaving for college. Time flies when you're having fun!!
